What this site is

The Odyssey Companion publishes original commentary, summaries, reading plans, maps, and essays about Homer's Odyssey, a work in the public domain. Where we quote the poem, we quote public-domain translations. All guides, annotations, illustrations, and interpretive writing are our own original work.

What this site is not

• We are not an official companion to any film. References to the 2026 film adaptation are descriptive and journalistic: we discuss publicly announced facts (such as the release date) so readers can prepare for the cultural moment.
• We do not use film posters, stills, logos, or promotional materials.
• We are not a therapy, counseling, or mental-health service. Our essays are literary and mythological interpretation — reflections on a poem, not treatment, advice, or diagnosis.
